Fayette County Fair

Visited: July 19

I had the honor of being a part of the opening ceremony for the Fayette County Fair. It was great for me to see so many
familiar faces at Fayette County, since I had been a camp counselor with many of the 4-H'ers who were participating in the ceremony. I was escorted into the ceremony by my friend, Ben. The ceremony recognized many people who helped with the fair and the 4-H program. The queens of each animal species were present at the ceremony. The last part of the ceremony was the crowning of the new queen. Congratulations to the new fair queen and king, Ashley and Cody! Also, congratulations to the queen's court, Amy and Logan. After the ceremony, I was interviewed by a local radio station about how I came to be the Ohio Fair's Queen. Then, a former Fayette County 4-H'er, and a current intern for OSU Extension in Fayette County, named Zach, showed me the fair. The Guys & Gals Sheep Lead show was taking place, along with poultry showmanship. I also visited the 4-H display booth barn. There were some very intense displays by the clubs that must have taken a lot of work!
